Shopping for the company and doing market check - fulfilling yet very much tiring day at the Bonifacio Global City! We deserve a very, nice reward.... how about a light snack?! Starting with a warm, GORGONZOLA CHEESE DIP with home-made chunky fries, fresh, julienned vegetables, olives and bell peppers. Next came the to-share basket of SOUTHERN STYLE CORNFLAKE CHICKEN served with arugula and rich gravy goodness! It's meant for two but it can very much fill four of us considering it's just 3pm! And then, comes the OMG - TRUFFLED MUSHROOM AND GRUYERE with home-made fries, eggs, bacon + caviar on top! Oh totally a devilish delight! Heavy on the belly yet light on your taste buds! Checking out the hype behind the meat-y fave near the workplace, I think: "yes, it's time!" And I bet my brother, the carnivore, is kicking his heels too when I mentioned, "how about BURGER BAR?" So go up the stairs, why don't you? It's a rustic American diner which reminds us of Army Navy fame but without the chaos and inconvenience of falling in line to place your orders, the very jolly and thoughtful attendants ushered us to the high stools, which we preferred over the booths. Our eyes feasted on the trays of burger plates that were on their way to their owners' tables. Time to make our own choice. A long list of yummy possibilities await: Starters, Meats, Sodas, Milkshakes, and here's what we got: The BOSS burger! You're literally the boss so you may call your burger whatever you want it to be! Fish and chips too! With your choice of eggs... Double patties... oh so yummy! We'll definitely be back! ...

Happy birthday Shoti! :) That's Fookien for li'l brother :) All 5 of us went to celebrate at Chili's Tomas Morato branch. It's just near the QC Scout circle and a big chili welcomes you on the front door. Parking is a bit tricky. Lucky we were there by 11.30, begore the lunch crowd sets in. Cheerful and efficient staff greeted us from the door and even at our seats. The air is so inviting: screens showed either cartoons to tame the kids or sports for the men. Here's what we ordered: Hearty Chicken Salad for starters Chicken Crispers with Fries Fajita Trio (served w/ 3 pitas but they gave us two more for free!) The famous Baby Back Ribs w/ shredded corn and we still had left-overs! Everything at less than Php 2,500 including two refillable glasses of iced tea for bro and sis. And the staff sang the chili's birthday song and gave my brother a crisp taco sundae! How sweet! Hearty birthday lunch treat from a loved one is always good!

I luv it! And we keep coming back for more! Quaint, american, homey feel... Like you're transported to Tagaytay where it's a few degrees lower and the faint smell of wood and cedar welcomes you "home". Bests: - shepherd's pie - chicken spinach lasagna - bacon breakfast meal - wild mushroom soup - pumpkin soup - cordon bleu - pork chops - ribs - cupcakes!!! Verdict: 4* food taste & quality 3* value 3* service (too many guests & they're always under staffed during lunch)

Typhoon week, I must dub this to be. What with typhoon Falcon + the emotional stress at work, the week had been a tiring wave of walks & rides wading through puddles & floods. Wishing we were all students with the announcements of class suspensions; one thing we learn from college from being exempted from these "no classes" is that LIFE MUST GO ON even if there's a storm. Stranded like hundred of others in the reclaimed area called Bay City, we took refuge in the mall and allowed ourselves a hearty dinner at Burgoo - good American restaurant always with generous promos from different credit card companies: Citibank offers free pasta & HSBC offers a seafood jambalaya. We chose the latter. I needed to fill the hungry tummies of my dad & brother who drove through the flooded & traffic-jammed stretch from Makati to Pasay. Night out with the family is always delectable. It does not necessarily mean expensive nor cheap, but we try to aim for the mid-class establishments so my parents won't feel intimidated & scold us for spending too much. The other night we found found ourselves in the open-air floor of TriNoMa mall  in QC & were so mesmerized with the lighted trees we just had to stay for dinner. So off we picked from the rows of promising establishments & voted for the one whose menu serves more meat. Plus, it has an interesting welcome: a life-sized COW.  My sibs & I were excited to order. My brother was asking the waiter if he could have the eat-all-you-can grilled-in-front-of-you beef inside.
