Chompin' at the Chophouse

Night out with the family is always delectable.

It does not necessarily mean expensive nor cheap, but we try to aim for the mid-class establishments so my parents won't feel intimidated & scold us for spending too much.

The other night we found found ourselves in the open-air floor of TriNoMa mall  in QC & were so mesmerized with the lighted trees we just had to stay for dinner. So off we picked from the rows of promising establishments & voted for the one whose menu serves more meat. Plus, it has an interesting welcome: a life-sized COW.

My sibs & I were excited to order. My brother was asking the waiter if he could have the eat-all-you-can grilled-in-front-of-you beef inside. Unfortunately, we had to try that some other time for you have to stay outdoors for the grill... nevermind.

We started with the French Style Onion Soup. Really gooey & cheesy soup infused with a heady dose of wine. I find it aromatically divine! My sister helped me with this 'coz I don't wanna stuff myself too much too early during dinner.

The Knotted Dinner Rolls are a soft bunch & I enjoyed them extremely even without butter.

We took a risk with the next starter, knowing that our mom won't touch it, given her allergies with crustaceans: Crispy Crab PuffsFilled fat with fluffed cream cheese & crab & countered with the tangy flavor of the mango cilantro salsa. It just balances out everything.

Say hello to my dish - Spicy Asian Steak on a bed of garlic-thyme rice & specially instructed shredded corn on the side. No, I don't want the kernels in between my teeth that's why! This dish reminds me of Pho dishes - including the special vinegar, and it perfectly enhances the meat's flavor, only the corn looks "American".

Dad got his fish for dinner - Barbecued Salmon on a bed of mashed potatoes & side salad. Quite filling, mind you. He had to share it with the love of his life so as not to feel guilty that he's having the  "healthiest" dish on the table.

Oh no, I forgot what this is called, medallion steak or fillets but everyone got a few pieces off this and it was medium-well & tasty with the sauce. I loved their real potato fries, they still have skin on 'em!

My little sister got the Chicken Margherita: grilled boneless chicken meat topeed with tomatoes, mozzarella,  mouthfuls of pasta & a salad in-between. Sister says it's soft, tasty & yummy.
Chicken Margherita
What perfect way to finish the evening's belly-full of meatsies?

We got this Chocolate Fudge ala Mode for free thanks to HSBC =)
