Once upon a time at Winter's wonderland in a ski resort 2.5hrs from Seoul, South Korea.... There is the highest skiing mountain aptly called the Dragon Peak due to the winding and head-spinning heights. You reach this amazingly sub-zero place via cable car and go in the cabin to warm your hands and frozen butt on the oh-so-good heaters! Snacks is needed for the cold tummy so the stalls we discovered were heaven-sent! Game night? Game night! My friend from U! Happy Event, Te Candano, invited us to a mixer in a local donut cafe for a friendly competition of trivia, trivia, trivia. Entrance fee of Php200 comes with a drink and a snack. There goes my diet, I thought. I got the wintermelon (lesser evil maybe) and choco w/almonds donut. Donuts are clover-shaped and surprisingly soft and chewy. I was actually expecting it to be hard to chew on so my discovery was a delight in each bite. Drop by weeknights, maybe they can also do... Empanadas are usually fist-sized pinched pastry pies with meat and/or veggies enveloped in a baked or fried flaky crust. These ones are tiny, baked, and have gourmet stuffings: Cheddar Semi-sweet chocolates Cream cheese and chives Peanut butter and Nutella! Plus, the crust is soft and chewy! We ate some immediately after we got the package. Careful, they're quite warm & sometimes the filling oozes out. Trick is to eat it by the pinched area 1st and nibble through the cute, fat body. Or better, just pop them in your mouth :) These delicious morsels go for Php40/ 6pcs. Nutella variand is premium at Php65/ 6pcs. Regular sized variands: creamy spinach, ham & cheese. Take a break from shopping at Tiendesitas... pet stuff, antiques, home furnishings and apparel and fashion accessories... a delightful food court awaits in the middle of it all: Bibingka Suman w/mango Suman w/ube Suman w/langka Suman w/chocolate Pair 'em with: Fresh buko shake Strawberry & mango shake and Tsokolate eh! What a nice Filipiniana snack! Then head off to shop some more!

I asked for cheese and lookit what I got... CHEESE!!! I looked in the fridge and saw 9?! Excluding the pack of herbed feta we have just consumed! Parmesan - grated/powdery or shaved (more flavor) for our Sunday Spaghetti Smoked - uberly good for sweet sausages like chicken ala cubana :) Emmental - to pair with Hungarian sausages; melted for munching without the woody taste on your tongue Blue - pungent... a tiny li'l pinch will do! I went straight to the toilet after digesting about a teaspoon on my veggie salad :) Feta - cubed with herbs, great for salads Cheddar - must have this always Cheddar slices - milky, great for breakfast sandwiches Cheese Melt/Melt Sarap - cheddar, quickmelt. For baked lasagna and cheesy potatoes too! Cream Cheese - to dillute the blue! Cheez Whiz - cheese spread great for nacho dipping, baked potato topping or just plainly on bread slices for a cheese snack!

Quick Japanese snack? Teriyaki Boy has loads to offer and still does not disappoint: Miso Sukiyaki Maki Gyoza Tofu Ramen Sushi Tempura Coffee jelly! Ice cream!! For a quick and lite dinner by my lonesome, I got a few variants to keep me company :) Seared tuna sashimi, pan fried gyoza, Japanese fried rice, and their hot, house tea to melt it all.

Trinoma branch. Shopping spree. Tired feet. Afternoon tea. Grab a seat. Seniors get a discount. Sit properly on chairs too high, Tables too low, Get tea on vintage bottles... With fruits too! Sugary but mild. Nice and cute southern american Country home concept. Will try pasta next time :)

Afternoon choco + hot pandesal in different native cheeses. Consume immediately. What a nice place for a decent meeting. It is quite warm during this time though, but the staff is very attentive so + points. I tried other dishes here some dinners ago and I don't remember hearing any complaints in my brain. Have to look for the shots. Verdict: 4* food and service 4* value for money 2* for cleanliness due to small roaches by the glass windows!

Every other Saturday = workday = mall = work + shop = tired feet  = comfort food to the rescue! Thank God for merienda breaks, WiFi & a cozy place to get lost in. the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf never fails to surround me with the much needed cozy ambiance. Other cafes are in the vicinity but I usually go for the alternative choice - where it's not that commercialized - yet! This afternoon I got: Apple Pie Latte in a mug & a hot piece of Sardine - Feta Cheese Pandesal = merienda heaven! By the way, since I find myself usually in a CBTL branch, I went ahead & got myself a SWIRLCARD . You should go get one too! And while you're at it, they also have a tie-up with U! Foundation , for 8 good causes this 2011!
